Can a baby turtle find the ocean in the dark? Let's find out! Tiny seeds and ocean dreams, paint and puppies, tasty things! Wonder it! Draw it! Know it, whoo! Juno Blooms! And so can you! Big sand! Tonight is Turtle Watch Night! The eggs are ready to hatch! Welcome, turtle watchers! Do turtles like crackers? Turtles eat ocean food. We only watch. How many babies are in a nest? Sometimes one hundred! One hundred?! Wonder time! My wonder question: how do baby turtles find the sea? Rule one: stay behind the rope. Rule two: only red light. No white flashlights. Lights off! Rule three: quiet voices. And never touch a turtle. Quiet voices. Quiet dance feet. A baby turtle! It's a hatchling! Hatchlings crawl toward the brightest horizon. That is usually the moonlit sea. The bright, open sea says go this way! One, two, three, four, five turtles! Go, go, go, little ones. Hatchlings follow the bright sea! That's beautiful AND brilliant! Now let's look closer. How far do turtles go? Try-It test! The moon-path maze! I'm a hatchling. I walk toward the bright moon. Here I am! Bright moon! I found the moon! My turn! Follow the light! Follow the glow. Follow the glow. Hatchlings follow the light all the way to the sea. Now, a Bloom Song! Splish-splash… WOW! Follow the moon! Follow the sea! Little flippers, wave with me! Flap, flap, flap, down to the sea, Follow the moon, and wave to me! Hatchlings crawl to the bright, bright sea, Moonlight shows them where to be! That's right! Where's the sea? Bright and wide! Who's following? All of us! The hatchlings swim away. Where will they go? Sea turtles swim thousands of miles. They feel Earth's magnetic field, like a map inside them. Like a fridge magnet! My compass points north! Look! The needle follows the magnet! The needle can feel it! Turtles feel Earth's magnet map. It helps them cross the whole ocean. Big ocean! Wow! Sea turtles travel thousands of miles. Brilliant! Shh. Look. A mama turtle. Many mama turtles return to the beach where they hatched. She hatched here years ago. Now she's back with her own eggs. Years and years and years. Maybe she crawled here as a baby, too. Keep watching, and stay quiet. The babies are walking the wrong way! Let's carry them to the sea! We don't touch hatchlings. The lights are the problem. Wonder it… draw it… figure it out! Those lights are too bright. Let's knock softly and ask the neighbors to turn off the lights. Go, go! Best crackerless ending. Lights off near the beach helps hatchlings find the sea. Lights off helps turtles. Brilliant! Welcome to the Moonlight Turtle Parade! One turtle! Two turtles! Three! Turtle hug! Counting turtles in the sea: ten! Follow me! Tiptoe, circle, flap! Wheee! Turtle parade! Bravo, turtle watchers! Ooh, fact flash! Sea turtles have been swimming for over one hundred million years! Older than a T. rex! That's beautiful AND brilliant! Petal Recap! Help our flower bloom! Hatchlings follow the bright… SEA! Turtles feel Earth's magnetic… MAP! Mama turtles come back to their home… BEACH! Lights near the beach should be… OFF! Can a baby turtle find the ocean in the dark? Yes, it follows the bright sea! And always: gentle hands, curious eyes. Lolo… follow… oops! Ozzie! Baby turtles follow the moon! A train follows the rails! Follow the moon… …follow the rails! Come see a hundred-car train! A hundred cars?! Come see! Watch All Aboard the Mighty Train next, on Ozzie Zooms! Wonder it, draw it… Zoom in, zoom out… …see you next time!
